Job Description
The Happy Cow is looking for an energetic, friendly, social and responsible bartender. Bar/restaurant experience is necessary. The job requires responsible serving of alcohol and customer safety. The candidate must have their TABC certificate or get it upon hiring.
Most days of the week, the job is a “one-person show”. Bartender is responsible for bartending, stocking, taking food orders, running food, bussing tables, etc. and takes home 100% if the tips. Fri and Sat are concert nights requiring additional bartenders and tips are split accordingly.
We are located halfway between San Marcos and New Braunfels in Hunter, TX.
Shifts are 1pm-7pm and 7pm-12am. Must be able to work full shifts, no partial hours.
Responsibilities
- Prepare alcoholic beverages for bar and restaurant needs
- Help plan and serve bar menu
- Restock and replenish bar inventory
- Cleaning/bussing tables
- ID customers to confirm legal drinking age
- Comply with food and beverage regulations

About Happy Cow Bar and Grill
The Happy Cow is a small bar with a lot of regulars located between San Marcos and New Braunfels. It does have a dive bar/country feel although it is located just 1/2 mile from I-35. Smoking IS ALLOWED in this part of Comal County and at the Happy Cow. During the week, we have only one bartender working each shift and that person is responsible for making drinks, clearing tables, stocking beer, cleaning, etc. On these days, the bartender gets 100% of the tips. On weekends, we do have live music and an outdoor bar. Multiple bartenders work on those nights and tips are split equally. One nice thing about being in Comal County is that we have to close at midnight so our bartenders are not getting home at 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning!
