Job Description
As the barista, you will skillfully craft the perfect beverage with consistency. With a wide range of beverage offerings, attention to detail and working quickly & accurately will help ensure your success. You'll also be responsible for keeping your station and the larger establishment clean and stocked. Being a barista offers you a community of passionate coffee lovers and frequent opportunities for continued learning.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers
- Prepare and serve hot/cold beverages
- Share knowledge and suggest menu items to customers
- Clean or sanitize work areas, utensils, or equipment
- Check temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, or heating equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Receive and process payments
- Prepare foods such as muffins, pastries, bagels, etc.

Mestizo got its start as a series of pop-ups inside the space, which formerly housed an outpost of boba tea shop Zero Degrees. “We talked to them and asked them to give us one or two days to do pop-ups,” owner Hang Nguyen says. “We had different chefs and restaurants and even home bakers bring us food to sell, and it took off.”
The menu at Mestizo, developed by chef Lucky Ruocco, will boast a pretty wide variety of Asian and Latin dishes, including the uber-trendy birria ramen, a bowl of brothy, spicy noodles that blends two classic dishes from Mexico and Japan. The menu also boasts sizzling sisig platters, nacho towers, birria ramen, deep-fried fish topped with sweet chili tamarind sauce, and a ton of slushies, boba teas, and coffee drinks.
