Food Service Assistant

The Food Service Assistant supports the nutritional programs at PCCOA by helping prepare and serve meals for older adults in congregate dining and home-delivered settings. Working under the Kitchen Manager, this role assists with food handling, kitchen duties, and keeping a clean, safe environment.

Responsibilities:

Assist with meal preparation and serving

Package meals for home delivery

Follow safe food handling practices

Help keep kitchen and equipment clean

Support inventory and storage of food/supplies

Assist with events or fundraisers as needed

Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Comfortable working with hot food and equipment

Occasional evenings and weekends for events

Hours:

• Tuesday - Thursday 6AM-2PM

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week

Shift:

• 8 hour shift

• Morning shift

Work Location: In person

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic food prep (chopping, portioning, cooking) and maintain coffee/breakfast station.
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards; clean kitchen, equipment, and dispose of trash properly.
• Receive, store, and help track food and supply inventory.
• Work well with staff, clients, and visitors; provide courteous service.
• Support kitchen operations, events, and fundraisers as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and perform other duties as assigned.
