Job Description
As a cook, you'll set up your station and participate in prep. You should be passionate about putting out consistent, quality food and seeking opportunities to learn and grow in the kitchen. You should be able to follow recipes and take direction from the Chef or Sous Chef and also explore your creativity where appropriate. You welcome the fast, often hectic pace of the kitchen and are above all a team player.

For over twenty years, The Taste of Islands restaurant located St Petersburg has been serving delectable Jamaican cuisine to the citizens living in this region. Being the brainchild of Yvonne Thompson and Zack Arscott, the original ideas spurred from an intense desire to share their Jamaican culinary delight with a variety of ethnic groups in the area.
At the core of its offerings, are the dominant signature dishes that permeate the Jamaican culture, from braised oxtails, curried shrimp and curried goat, and the perennial Jerk chicken. Our wide array of gastronomical delights tickles the taste buds of those who seek our island fare, simmered in a blend of herbs and spices that are uniquely Jamaican.
Leo Anderson a 3rd generation has taken the business into the next phase by opening up a caribbean marketplace a few steps away from the restaurant location. The thrust is to continue to expressing his Jamaican culture through variety of authentic products that Jamaicans usually find back home.
