Job Description

Fogo de Chão - Santa Monica is looking for an experienced Head Chef to join our team full time or part time in Santa Monica, CA. As Head Chef, you will deliver high quality food while offering attentive service to guests, as well as kitchen staff. A positive attitude is crucial for this role.


Responsibilities include:

-Effective management of staff

-Facilitate a stable, orderly, and reliable work environment

-Evaluate menu and adjust as needed

-Uphold food quality and presentation standards

-Ensure kitchen follows proper storage, labeling, food preparation, and safety protocols

-Collaborate with waitstaff

-Be responsible for kitchen culture and best practices

-Build your kitchen team through interviewing, hiring, providing performance improvement, and disciplinary action

Responsibilities

  • Create menus
  • Direct the food prep process
  • Plan & order ingredients and necessary equipment
  • Arrange for kitchen repairs when needed
  • Use P&L statements to effectively manage costs and meet budgets
  • Hire, manage, and train kitchen staff
  • Oversee kitchen staff, looking for opportunities to counsel or coach
  • Foster cooperation, collaboration and respect
  • Have knowledge of and enforce all safety and sanitation requirements
