Job Description
A Restaurant Host will deliver “Best for the Guest” service throughout the venue to Guests and Team Members, alike. Although their interaction with a Guest may be brief, the goal remains to treat your Guests with respect, and being attuned to their needs.
SELF:
-Remember to always take pride in your personal appearance by:
-Ensure clean and proper uniform.
-Care in your personal grooming.
-Follow all Hygiene requirements in the employee handbook.
-Ask for help when needed.
-Make sure you are taking breaks if appropriate during your shift.
GUESTS:
-Greet Guests promptly. Provide information and answer questions, and thanks the Guests for visiting as they depart.
-Select the table that is best for the Guest and promotes the venue action.
-Have a thorough knowledge of the food, beverage, and bar menus and make suggestions for drink and food, using suggestive selling techniques.
-Work the dining room and continuously interact with the Guests.
-Quote accurate wait for the dining room. Keeps the manager informed as to the current wait time through radio communication.
-Promote the entertainment options of the venue.
-Has the ability to handle Guest dissatisfaction using empowerment and answer Guest questions.
TEAM MEMBERS:
-Follow guidelines of this manual even during very busy, stressful conditions
-Perform opening, mid-day and closing preparations and cleaning/maintenance duties according to requirements of your shift.
-Is responsible for general cleanliness of the food service area including, but not limited to, using a pan and broom to clean debris, cleaning drinks and/or food spills, bussing tables, and cleaning front door windows.
-Assist other Team Members as needed.
-Report safety issues to management immediately
-Uses proper radio procedures in communication.
Responsibilities
- ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Wipe down menus thoroughly and constantly during the shift.
- Keeps the Kitchen informed of large parties and wait times.
- Polish silverware throughout the shift and roll silverware as needed.
- Pick up trash and debris, including cigarette butts from front entrance and parking lot.
- Ensure equipment is in complete working order and if there is anything amiss, report it immediately to management.
