Job Description

As host, you'll be the conductor of the orchestra that is service. You are the first impression of the restaurant and set the tone for guests' experiences. You will answer phones, take reservations, and be responsible for seating guests according to server availability. Your attention to detail and communication are critically important. You are also the last note of the experience, and will wish guests farewell and invite them to come back.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers as soon as they walk through the door
• Provide patrons with accurate wait time estimates during busy periods
• Maintain a neat, organized front-of-house environment
• Seat guests and informing server
• Assist with opening/closing tasks and side work as needed
• Learn food and beverage menu to assist in taking "TOGO" orders
• Rotate seating between different stations to ensure even workloads for waitstaff
• Operate a cashier station to check guests out
• Assist servers with bussing and resetting tables for the next guest
• Provide support to servers where necessary such as getting ice, glasses, emptying trash, etc.
• Requirements
• High school diploma/GED preferred
• Must be able to work weekends and most holidays
• Ability to work 6+ hours on your feet at a time
• Friendly, open disposition
• Team player who looks for ways to help out other employees whenever needed
• Job Type: Part-time
• Salary: $9.00/hour to start plus portion of tip pool
