Job Description
As manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing daily operations of the restaurant. You should prioritize outstanding guest service and will be responsible for sourcing, hiring and developing team members. You'll be expected to provide a safe work environment and ensure all standards and procedures are followed.
Responsibilities
- Restaurant Shift Manager Duties
- 1. Supervise Staff During Shifts
- • Ensure proper staffing and manage shift schedules.
- • Delegate tasks and monitor performance.
- 2. Oversee Daily Operations
- • Maintain smooth restaurant operations during shifts.
- • Monitor food preparation, presentation, and service quality.
- 3. Customer Service
- • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly.
- • Ensure customer satisfaction and provide a positive dining experience.
- 4. Cash Handling & Reporting
- • Manage cash register, handle end-of-day reconciliation.
- • Prepare shift reports and deposit cash when necessary.
- 5. Inventory & Supplies
- • Check stock levels and ensure ingredients/supplies are available.
- • Communicate with suppliers or notify management of shortages.
- 6. Health & Safety Compliance
- • Ensure staff follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- • Conduct routine checks on cleanliness and equipment functionality.
- 7. Training & Mentorship
- • Assist in onboarding new employees.
- • Provide ongoing coaching and support to team members.
- 8. Open and Close the Restaurant
- • Ensure proper procedures for opening and closing the restaurant.
- • Secure premises and ensure all systems are shut down or prepped.
- 9. Coordinate with Kitchen Staff
- • Communicate effectively between front-of-house and back-of-house.
- • Manage wait times and ensure smooth coordination.
- 10. Report to General Manager/Owner
