Job Description
Cracker Barrel - Flat Rock is looking for a full time or part time line cook/prep cook to start immediately in Flat Rock, NC. Line cooks/prep cooks prepare the signature, quality food Cracker Barrel - Flat Rock is known for. The ideal line cook/prep cook cares about the details, remains calm in the face of multiple complicated tickets, and has a willingness to learn new cooking techniques and menu items. RESPONSIBILITIES
-Efficiently prepares food items as ordered.
-Exercises food safety and kitchen sanitation practices in order to deliver a quality product.
-Weighs, measures, and mixes ingredients according to recipes.
-Properly prepares meat, fish, vegetables, and other ingredients.
-Stays ahead of orders by anticipating demand throughout shift.
-Maintains cleanliness and working order of work area, tools, equipment, and supplies.
-Prepares and maintains the line and par levels as required by the current menu.
-Keeps walk in cooler/freezer organized.
-May assist with inventory temp logs and waste logs.
The ideal candidate will:
-Have knowledge of food service regulations.
-Skillfully uses hand tools or machines needed for the position.
-Be able to work in a fast paced environment.
-Be able to lift, carry, or pull objects that may be heavy and able to stand for extended periods of time.
-Is able to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities
- • Execute cold/hot food preparation in accordance with proper guidelines
- • Review recipes, assembling, combining, and cooking ingredients according to Cracker Barrel standards
- • Adhere to proper food handling and safety procedures
- • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of cooking equipment, food storage and work areas
- • Complete scheduled cleaning at the direction of CB Kitchen management
- • Works all areas of the back of the house, including prep, grill, and dishwasher
- • Assist with food supple inventory
- • Ensure smooth operation of food preparation
- • Ensure proper presentation of food
- • Work with CB Virtual brand Kitchen team members to ensure accurate and efficient fulfillment of all ghost kitchen orders
- • Complete ad hoc tasks at the direction of the General Manager
