Job Description

The Prep Cook supports Spa Castle’s culinary team by preparing ingredients, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring all food items meet company standards for quality, freshness, and presentation. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• • Prepare and portion ingredients (vegetables, proteins, sauces, garnishes, etc.) according to Spa Castle recipes and specifications.
• • Set up and break down prep stations, ensuring all tools, equipment, and ingredients are properly stocked and organized.
• • Assist cooks and chefs with basic cooking tasks, such as assembling dishes, prepping components, and batch cooking as needed.
• • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper labeling, dating, and storage procedures.
• • Maintain cleanliness of prep areas, cutting boards, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout the shift.
• • Communicate product shortages, equipment issues, and quality concerns to supervisors in a timely manner.
• • Support smooth kitchen operations by prioritizing tasks and maintaining consistent workflow.
• • Uphold Spa Castle’s standards for hospitality, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction behind the scenes.
• Qualifications
• • Previous prep cook or kitchen experience preferred, but not required.
• • Basic knowledge of kitchen tools, food handling, and preparation techniques.
• • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• • Ability to follow recipes, portion guidelines, and standard operating procedures accurately.
• • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs as needed.
• • Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
