Job Title: Prep Chef
Reports to: Assistant Kitchen Manager/ Kitchen Manager/Executive Chef/General Manager FSLA Status: Hourly
Summary of Position:
This team member is responsible for the day to day operation of the kitchen and maintaining all areas of the location including cafe, patio, restrooms and kitchen. This team member is responsible for being a team player, working with team members. This position is accountable for providing “Standard of Excellence” to our Powder Room Cafe guests

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
● Performing “Standards of Excellence”
● Following recipes outlined by The Powder Room Cafe Recipe guidelines
● Preparation of food by The Powder Room Cafe “Standards of Excellence”
● Replenishing / stocking all paper and food items needed to service guests.
● Family meal for all team members
● Maintaining a clean, fresh personal appearance at all times
● Participating regularly in staff meetings
● Addressing kitchen, recipe, or product issues in a timely and professional manner
● Being familiar with store evaluation procedures
● Washing dishes according to guidelines set forth
● Maintain store cleanliness and ensure sanitation levels are met/exceeded
● Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
● None
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
This position requires an individual who:
● One year of kitchen experience in restaurant / hospitality industry or catering environment
● Has high energy, a warm, pleasant attitude, is outgoing and a team player
● Has strong verbal and communication skills
● Basic knowledge of food preparation, food costs and recipe execution
● Has good organization skills
● Is flexible and thrives in high stress situations
● Has the ability to build a positive relationship with other staff members
● Has a good understanding of product knowledge and food safety
● Has a sense of humor
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
● Walks or stands for long periods of time
● Max commitment of 35 hours a week.
● May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
● Required to operate equipment set at standard height
● Must reach, bend, stoop, lift, wipe
● Some repetitive motion may be required
● Must be able to access all small wares or product at varying heights of storage
WORK CONDITIONS
● Must be able and willing to work weekends and holidays
● Fast-paced restaurant environment, sometimes stressful
● Hazards include, but not limited to, slipping, tripping, burns, cuts, abrasions and falls.
