About this location
About Chuy's - McKinney
Chuy's opened on April 16, 1982 in an old, abandoned Texas Barbeque joint on iconic Barton Springs Road in Austin, TX. There was seating for about sixty, a women's restroom the size of a broom closet and a men's restroom that was, well, outside. Founders Mike Young and John Zapp had a vision of a fun and funky Tex-Mex restaurant that served authentic and fresh food in an atmosphere that appealed to everyone. From these humble beginnings Chuy's was born.
Joining the Chuy's team is more than a job, we're a family! And this family comes with amazing perks, like great pay and flexible schedules. At Chuy’s you can be proud of serving REAL food at a restaurant that lives by our #1 rule of doing everything you can for the customer. Our hourly employees are not only the hardest working in the business, we are the friendliest too!
It is a privilege for Chuy's to give back to the communities we serve. Our founders, Mike and John, started Chuy's with the belief that we should always help the people in the neighborhoods we do business in, especially our youngest members, children. This foundation lives on today through our annual Children Giving to Children Toy Drive Parade in Austin and the many ways, big and small, our managers and staff lend a helping hand to their local communities. Each Chuy's restaurant partners with a local charity and serves through fundraising and volunteering.
