ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITY
The Shift Manager is responsible for ensuring that operations run smoothly in the absence of a
manager.
ESSENTIAL QUALITIES TO BE A SUCCESSFUL SHIFT MANAGER
- A strong customer service focus along with effective communication and time-
management skills are necessary to be successful in this role.
- Holds leadership qualities and is involved in being a team player.
Responsibilities
- Opening/Closing manager tasks
- Maintain a pleasant work environment.
- Support the primary duties of their management team.
- Be flexible and aid with any workstation that may need assistance.
- Support managers by supervising tasks and delegating duties.
- Monitor workers' performance with reports back to the management team.
- Communicate with all team members effectively and professionally.
- Train new and current team members on tasks.
- Lead others by example by providing excellent service.
- Complete table checks for all guests during business hours.
- Support all staff (FOH and BOH)
- Communicate and resolve guest complaints or praises with the team.
- Manage a safe code and verify all cash drawers.
- Continue training and development on new tasks and items.
