Route 66, also know as the Will Rogers Highway and colloquially known as the Main Street of America or Mother Road, was one of the original highways within the U.S. Highway System. Route 66 was established on November 11, 1926. The highway became one of the most famous roads in America, originally running from Chicago, IL, through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona before ending at Santa Monica, CA, covering 2,448 miles. Route 66 served as a major path for those who migrated west, and it supported the economies of the communities the road passed through.
Cadillac Ranch is a public art installation and sculpture in Amarillo, Texas
It was created in 1974 by Chip Lord, Hudson Marquez and Doug Michels, who were a part of the art group Ant Farm. It consists of what were either older running used or junk Cadillac automobiles, representing a number of evolutions of the car line (most notably the birth and death of the defining feature of mid-twentieth century Cadillacs: the tailfins) from 1949 to 1963, half-buried nose-first in the ground, at an angle corresponding to that of the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt.
Cadillac Ranch Great All-American Bar and Grill was founded with that very same spirit in mind
With that very same spirit in mind Cadillac Ranch Great All-American Bar and Grill was founded in February of 2009 when it opened its first location in National Harbor, MD.
