Community Guidelines

Last Updated: November 17, 2020

Thank you for being part of the Seasoned community!

Our mission is to bring the service industry together to be successful in work and life. We’re glad that you’re here.

Seasoned is a reflection of our diverse community within the hospitality industry. We’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the different points of view that create a safe and open environment for everyone, and we created these Community Guidelines so you can help us foster and protect this amazing community. Please be aware that by using Seasoned, you agree to these guidelines. Overstepping the boundaries outlined here may result in deleted content, disabled accounts, or other restrictions.

Please show respect to other members of the Seasoned community.

We want to foster a positive, diverse community, and we encourage our members to speak their minds and participate in constructive conversations. That said, Seasoned is a community for service industry professionals and our members must be real people, who provide their legal names and accurate information about themselves. We don’t allow fake profiles on our platform, and it’s not okay to provide misleading or deceptive information about yourself and your work experience.

There are certain types of community interactions that we deem harmful and do not allow.

Seasoned does not allow content that is deemed by the community to be racist, incite violence, contain sexual content, or otherwise cause harm to our members. It's never OK to encourage violence or attack anyone based on their race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, disabilities, or diseases. We take your safety seriously, and review every report from our members. Depending on the content, we may work with law enforcement when we believe that there’s risk of physical harm or threat to public safety to our members.

We will remove any content that:

  • Promotes or ratifies hate speech of any kind, including but not limited to the use of racial slurs, disparagement humor, trolling, microaggressions, tokenism, or other discriminatory language.
  • Contains specific threats of harm to public or personal safety, including theft, vandalism, doxxing, and calls for self-harm or suicide.
  • Incites others to target private individuals to degrade, shame, or dox them, including the posting of personally identifying information towards that goal.
  • Includes personally identifying information meant to blackmail or harass someone.
  • Contains graphic images for sadistic pleasure or to glorify violence.
  • Praises or supports terrorism, organized crime, or hate groups.
  • Contains nudity or pornographic content.
  • Includes threats to post intimate images of others.
  • Contains sexual content involving minors.
  • Contains repeated unwanted messages.

Let’s foster meaningful and genuine interactions between members.

Help us stay spam-free. Our members use Seasoned to share important and newsworthy events, promote work opportunities, connect members with services that they need, and let people in their neighborhoods know what’s happening in their lives. Help us stay spam-free by:

  • Not artificially collecting likes, followers, or shares for content
  • Not posting repetitive comments or content
  • Not contacting people for commercial purposes without their consent
  • Not promoting online gambling, online real money games of skill, or online lotteries
  • Not creating fraudulent accounts to impersonate others or to artificially collect likes, comments or shares

Post photos, videos, and other content that’s appropriate for a diverse audience. Share only photos and videos you’ve taken or have the right to share. Remember to post authentic content, and don’t post anything you’ve copied or collected from the Internet that you don’t have the right to post.

A few other activities we don’t allow:

  • Offering or purchasing sexual services
  • Buying or selling firearms
  • Buying or selling illegal or prescription drugs (even if it’s legal in your region)
  • Buying, selling, or trading any illegal goods

Maintain our supportive environment by not glorifying self-injury. The Seasoned community is close-knit, and is often a place where people facing difficult issues come together to create awareness or find support. Encouraging or urging people to embrace self-injury is counter to this environment of support, and we’ll remove it or disable accounts if it’s reported to us. This includes but is not limited to alcohol and drug abuse, addiction, eating disorders, cutting, or other kinds of self-injury.

Don’t copy or distribute the posts or other content of others without their permission, unless you do it through our sharing functionality. If one of your photos or videos was posted by someone else, comment on the post and ask the person to take it down. If that doesn’t work, please email us at copyright@seasoned.co and we will send you details on how to file a copyright report with us. If you believe someone is violating your trademark, please email us at trademark@seasoned.co and you can file a trademark report.

Keep the community strong by reporting content that violates these guidelines.

If you see something that you think may violate our guidelines, please help us by using our built-in reporting option. This option allows users of the service to report improper content, which then is flagged to Seasoned for evaluation. We have a team that reviews these reports and works as quickly as possible to remove content that doesn’t meet our guidelines.

Even if you or someone you know doesn’t have a Seasoned account, you can still file a report. When you complete the report, try to provide as much information as possible, such as links, usernames, and descriptions of the content, so we can find and review it quickly.

You may find content you don’t like, but doesn’t violate the Community Guidelines. If that happens, you can unfollow or block the person who posted it. If there's something you don't like in a comment on one of your posts, you can delete that comment. Many disputes and misunderstandings can be resolved directly between members of our community.

Thank you for helping us create one of the best hospitality communities in the world. If you have any questions about these guidelines, please contact us at guidelines@seasoned.co.
