Sugar Ray’s Bake Shop in Plano, Texas is looking for a Part-time baker/ pastry chef to join our growing business! We are a from-scratch and boutique bakery that specializes in gourmet cupcakes, french macarons, crepes, and so much more! Sugar Ray’s Bake Shop is looking for someone highly motivated, well organized, creative, a team player, and passionate about all aspects involved in baking and pastry. All candidates must have an extreme level of attention to detail and enjoy working as part of a team in a fast paced environment. Candidates must be willing to be coached and learn in order to adapt to needs of the bakery.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

-Baking daily pars of cupcakes and counter items

-Making buttercreams for all cupcakes or counter items

-Icing, decorating, and garnishing all cupcakes or counter items

-Complete all orders specified for that day

-Assisting with front of house duties that include: greeting and assisting guests, maintaining the appearance of the counter and guest area, building boxes, handling money, and taking custom orders

-Ensuring cleanliness of the kitchen

-Ingredient inventory

-Preparing, baking, and decorating cakes, pies, cookies, french macarons, etc.

Qualifications:

-High school diploma or equivalent

-Previous experience working in a bakery or pastry kitchen is preferred

-Diploma or certification in baking and pastry is a plus

-Strong problem solving skills

-Highly reliable and responsible

-Ability to work well under pressure

-Focus on guest needs and remaining courteous at all times

Physical Demand:

-Constant standing or walking throughout shift

-Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs

-Occasional kneeling, pushing, or pulling
