Main Event - Baton Rouge is looking for an ambitious full time or part time Food Expeditor (Expo) in Baton Rouge, LA to assist in the preparation of delicious dishes in the kitchen and getting those delicious meals out of the kitchen to our customers.

You’ll perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared and plated according to recipes. A great Food Runner/Food Expeditor will be quick and diligent and willing to improve on the job while maintaining all health and safety rules in the kitchen.

Other duties of a Food Expeditor/Runner:

-Follow the plating specifications created by the chefs

-Ensure the efficient flow of orders from the POS to the Cook

-Ensure orders are being prepared with the correct priority

-Assist in the final preparation of dishes

-Check dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperature

-Deliver orders to maintain fast service

-Eliminate obstacles in service, food preparation lines or dishwashing

-Inspect the premises according to quality and sanitation standards and assist in cleaning

-Transfer important information between the customer and the kitchen (e.g. when a customer has a particular request)

Responsibilities

• Read tickets, finish plates and run food or delegate to a team member
• Describe dish being dropped at the guest's table and ensure they are satisfied before returning to the kitchen
• Retrieve any items guests may need to accompany their meal
• Assist servers in side work during down times
• Be sure station is set with all items needed by both the BOH and the FOH
• Maintain a clean workstation
